Tim Manthey

Patricia Moreno

Please welcome our newest member, Patricia Moreno.
I'm a worker woman from Spain. I've done collages for years, at the beginning as travel-journals and without artistic purpose, then as a creative tool. After visiting an exhibition about Max Ernst's "Une semaine de bonté" I realised how great collage is as an instrument for self-expression... and now I just can't stop. I do collages for fun, to be happier. I think each man/woman is an artist. We only have to look inside.

It's a big honour for me to participate in Scrapiteria. I admire the work of their members very much. It is a marvelous and amusing challenge, with at least one unexpected side-effect: a brand new blog.
See more of her work at El Laboratorio Azul.

Theme of the Week - Unreal Maps

Lynn Skordal

Please welcome our newest member, Lynn Skordal, from Mercer Island, WA.

A couple years ago, I retired from the practice of law, and returned to an early love – art.  I usually make small works on paper, and collage is a favorite medium because it is so humble and yet immensely satisfying. I really like the feeling of creating an alternate reality from old photos, colored bits of paper and whatever else is laying around.  I live on an island in the middle of a lake in the middle of a big city with my lovely husband, two fabulous daughters and one dyspeptic old cat.

Tim Manthey

Please welcome our newest member, Tim Manthey!

Born in Seattle in the late seventies, Tim Manthey has been creating unique and strange visual art for over thirty years. Whether it be a life-long sketch journal, video collages for public access television, or glass art. In 2009, he picked up scissors, glue and paint, and was struck with the urge to create handmade collages that soon evolved into whimsically disturbing dream narratives. Through illustrating and manipulating images, Tim creates unique designs, characters and themes that play with perception and explore the possibilities of interaction. His collage work has been featured on Design-milk.com, FFFFOUND!, The Stranger, Scrapiteria, A Book About Death, The Drawgasmic Exhibition, and is shown regularly around Seattle.

You can see more of his work on his blog, Cloud Nectar.

The funny thing about music is...
