Sacred Anatomy Matches

The Colman camping matches are no more. Here are Sacred Anatomy Matches (1-1/3" x 2-1/4"), with a few "little objects" inside: a collaged sacred heart card, a collaged all-seeing eye, a mysterious bone (kiddie air-dry craft clay) and two waterproof matches. Light a fire in your heart!

Tough Guy Matches

I worked around a Victorian match box I had. It has four compartments for matches. Each compartment has a match striking surface next to it. I collaged the inside of each compartment with paper and the underside (that has now become the top) with paper, a bit of an old measuring tape, a bit of an old paper doily and some of the matches that were still inside the box. Each compartment is slightly smaller than a modern matchbox (see measuring tape for scale) and the handles are made of buttons.

The outside and inside view of the collage in a matchbox. I tried to be clever and cut out a window but you cant really see that much - needs a tiny light bulb inside or something. O well I tried!

Theme of the Week - Matchbox Collage

On Flickr, there was a challenge to stuff a matchbox with as many objects as would fit.  It was amazing how much material people were able to include.  That made me think that it would be fun to create a collage on the inside of a matchbox.  This means working on a very tiny surface, but it should be a fun and challenging.  Please include the size of your matchbox when posting it.  If you want, you can incorporate tiny objects.  If you don't like working small, there are larger matchboxes and you are welcome to use one of those if you prefer.

As a reminder to members and non-members, please do not submit digital collages.  Scrapiteria is for cut and paste only.  Thanks!
