The Little Moreton Hall Murders

Little Moreton Hall is a fabulous old Tudor house about 15 miles from where we live in Cheshire. No murders were ever commited there as far as I know - just my fertile imagination at work!

Petalmania

What had started out as a mild case of florimania (obsession with flowers), Iris suddenly found herself breaking out with an acute case of petalmania (an abnormal growth of petals).

Fast Women and Fast Food Will Be the Death of Me

One could say that I am prone to two kinds of heart trouble: the breaking kind and the attacking kind. The former usually comes with the latter. Against my better judgment, I find myself drawn to a certain type of woman who plays fast and easy with her virtue and my arteries. I know I should be ashamed of my conduct in the drive-thru lane—all the countless "quickies" between sales calls, but alas, I am a man who cannot control his appetites be it for a filly or a filet-o-fish.

Alligators in NYC Sewers

Unlike those fabled Florida Toilet Sharks (which everyone knows live in Salt water), these pets get flushed by homeowners who can't care for them anymore and are only a threat to municipal workers and fleeing action-movie heroes.

The Jersey Devil

Eating carrots improves your night vision

Apparently, this urban myth was created by British intelligence during WWII to cover up the invention of radar, which helped them to detect aircraft in total darkness. Also, it seems that most rabbits don't like carrots.

Sharks in Toilets

There is a long-standing urban myth that sharks turn up in people's toilets down in Florida and bite those sitting on them. This is completely absurd. The sharks in the toilets are harmless, but curious. If you should encounter one, just give it a biscuit or a spoonful of chum.

Food Additives

Absolutely no truth to the urban myths about nasty things found in food like the cockroach biscuits, the mousey bread and the spider egg semolina.
