Pantomime, in case Mike has not described it elsewhere and you are unfamiliar with the genre is very gaudy, vulgar and highly romantic -normally all the old women are played by men in drag, the principal male hero is usually played by a beautiful woman dressed as a man and the heroine is also usually a beautiful woman.
Normally they are a romp and the script is nearly always filled with topical jokes and references, loads of double entendres and mostof the major shows are stuffed with a cast of TV stars and odd celebrities like boxers models, pop stars...
The audience is encouraged to participate, especially children so when the villain appears and is stalking Prince Charming or whomever all the kids shout "He's behind you!!!" and if he is pretending to be Prince Charming and says "I am Prince Charming" all the kids shout "Oh no your not!!!" Its fun.
