This is an experimental collage.

I actually find an open theme more difficult than a set theme so I've taken this opportunity to experiment with different techniques. Here I am trying to superimpose two different images to create an optical illusion. I know it doesn't look much but it was actually quite time consuming and tricky to get it to this point. I find that it is better viewed from the distance and at the larger size. I don't know if anyone else has played around with this kind of technique but I'd love to see some examples.

it looks very time consuming to me! It is also incredibly beautiful :) I'm hoping that I can do something for this week since I couldn't come up with anything for the past two weeks.

gorgeous work :D

This is very cool. I've never tried anything like that because I don't want to ruin my eyes or lose my sanity. Great job!

I'd say your experiment succeeded. Having done a woven collage of 2 images; I know how much tougher it is than one would think. Well done, CD!

Thanks everyone for your encouragement! Hope you make one Vivienne! The Renzntzman: the eyes are still good but I'm not sure about the mind... Punwit: thanks! I tried weaving a while ago but it made me very cranky so here I just worked with strips from one of the images.

It's really beautiful and impressive! I don't know if I would have the patience to attempt this technique. Maybe I'll give it a go, but in a simpler version.
