I used three sources of paper to make this collage. The blue and red pieces were deconstructed from a booklet of musical notes from 1943 which I found recently in a huge vintage shop in Norway (I'm not very good at currency conversions so I probably paid thousands of dollars for this). The high rise buildings are from a second-hand book on architecture which I got for next to nothing a couple of weeks ago at a mega book sale in Sydney where I was scolded by some random guy for arriving 3 hours after the sale started (this was the first day of the sale and it went on for four more days). The starry sky image inside the boat is from a 1937 volume on navigation which I found a while ago at a Sydney market. The guy who sold it to me looked like a hit man (haggling wasn't an option).

Lovely! I love your description of where you found things too. Norway is a beautiful place but SO expensive and I can imagine trying to figure out the exchange rate like we did and thinking, o blow it! we are on holiday - hang the expense!
Thanks wastedpapiers! It's definitely not a cheap place to visit but I've heard that Iceland is even more expensive.
I love it! My Grandmother was from Norway, she would tell wonderful stories. Cool collage Dogma
I don't know what's better...the collage or the description!
Thanks so much for your lovely comments!
I absolutely love your explanation, CD!! Anytime we get involved with creative writing (like when each could add a line to a story or poem about the collage) is always a favorite of mine, and I'm glad this theme turned out to be well received by everyone.
Thanks Punwit!!!! If only scraps of paper could speak for themselves .......
