Frog Two Three

Funny coincidence - I found this Japanese toy box on the street and thought 'green' but was kind of overwhelmed cause the box was really thick cardboard (carving knife/chainsaw thick). But I saw punwit's Kermit collage and Lisa's frog and I went green with envy- rippet.

Gee, I never find cool stuff like That on the street! Often you can separate layers of thick cardboard and paper-- start farther away from the image you want to keep and slip a razor between them. Roll it back gently and keep changing your grip to where it's attached. If it starts to tear through, start again on another edge and work back toward the center.

thanks for tips and guidance. once i removed the steel claw staples it was kinda trashed especially since it was creased like it had been rolled over by alot of cars! I cannot believe I found this on the street either and in Mexico!

Croaktastic! I was looking for collage material in the street yesterday but most of what I found was really hideous and plastic and garish plastic- yuk! I expect it would look fantastic in 50 years but I couldnt bare to pick it up!

I'm jealous of that find too! You made a great collage with it.

I've tried picking up trash in downtown Houston too, but like Michael, end up being a bit grossed out especially since I hate getting my hands dirty. However, a great place to get good ephemera is after a baseball game. Lots of ticket stubs.

I love picking up tickets too! This is making me think about the whole topic of picking up stuff off the street. I tend to 'go for it' more when I am in foreign countries because the stuff looks so exotic. Like candy wrappers or cigarette packs or labels in a different language and it looks so unrecognizable and often wierd that it fires my imagination... but it can defiantely be gross. I tend to find lots of stuff on the street (always have) but my rule is that I only pick up stuff that is dry and I am much more discrimating now than ever before!
