We did go without a TV for a number of years (7!) in the 1980s when Sara was little and in some ways it was bliss but it does mean that major events such as in the news are far less vivid. I also realised recently that the resaon I have no memories of Live Aid for instance, was that we had no TV then. Now I am quite happy to be a couch potato when I have the time!

Just what is a healthy ammount of television? It's very hard to know isn't it and i quite understand why some parents worry that their child is becoming a pudden' sitting in front of endless cartoons and not getting any exercise or fresh air. Archie proabaly watches too much but then I can see he gets a lot out of the programmes he watches and they spark ideas for his own animation s and drawings etc.
I was certainly a baby boomer who loved TV in the 50's but then there was so little of it! I have fond memories of old Tv shows and I expect Archie will have fond memories of the ones he watches too and get all nostalgic about Pokemon and Spongebob Squarepants!
